TOP Annual Fundraiser

Annually, TOP hosts its main fundraiser at Midtown Tennis Club Chicago to generate funds to provide program services to its at-risk scholarship students.  A pro-amateur tournament is a big part of the fundraiser.  An amateur tennis player, who would generally be characterized as a club player, chooses a professional tennis instructor to partner with for competition in a doubles tournament.  The amateur pays the fee for participation in this tournament.  The tournament always includes at least 16 doubles teams competing against each other within 4 subgroups.  Each year, TOP has been fortunate to have a well-known celebrity tennis guest to play in our event.  In most recent years, we have had touring tennis professionals Laura Granville, John Austin, and former world #1, Jim Courier, as celebrity guests.  During the fundraiser, the celebrity engages in several tennis activities, including the pro-amateur tournament, and interacts with TOP patrons.  In addition, TOP holds silent and live auctions throughout the day and evening.  Some of the auction items include Grand Slam Tennis tour packages, tennis memorabilia, dinners at exquisite restaurants, spa packages, and much more.  A catered dinner, with excellent wines and entertainment, makes the event even more special for TOP supporters.
